“I started playing baseball at a really young age. I wasn’t suppose to play at age three but my mom’s former teacher from high school was the coach and pulled some strings. I loved it immediately and didn’t want to play anything else. I didn’t play football until I got in middle school and didn’t attempt to try basketball until high school. No other sport gave me the feeling that baseball gave me. And throughout my career I’ve had the luxury of having coaches who, yes wanted me to be good and reach my peaks as an athlete, but also made sure I loved the game first.
So that’s what I want to give back to kids, what I had growing up. Skills and getting better come with loving the game first. I feel that I’d be the best at bringing out the fullest potential from each child, not just with my knowledge but with the passion I have for the game. That is the same passion I plan to instill in them as well.” ~ LaDerrious Perry.

“My name is Maria Berkheimer and I am a wife, a mommy of two precious boys, and an accountant. My early life consisted of me always training as a gymnast, and eventually that grew into me being the trainer. The love I have for coaching gymnastics/cheer began 8 years ago. I have coached all levels and age ranges. The knowledge I have acquired ranges from gymnastics, all the way to cheer, and everything in between. I strive to encourage our youth to build physical and personal strength. Not only do I want to be a coach, but I look forward to being their friend and mentor.”

All there is to do is to be better than yesterday. Everyday will not be your best day, but every day is a lesson and opportunity to excel.
I grew up and graduated in Cabot in 2001. Growing up I was not active in conventional sports. Skateboarding and breakdancing were my attractions. As one senior leader put it to me, “you were a geographically displaced Arkansan.” How a country boy ever found and was successful with city activities amused him. In 2008 I enlisted in the USAF where over the next 12 years I was stationed in 2 states, 1 over seas assignment and multiple deployments in various countries. In 2020 I separated from service due to medical conditions and moved back to Arkansas.
12 years USAF in logistics, advising and non- conventional fields.
8 years Functional fitness/CF experience. Having competed in multiple competitions in multiple countries.(Not a games athlete, im not that cool). Attained my Level 1 in 2016 and various Continued Education courses after.

Focal point for education on fitness/nutrition information, oversaw qualification testing and managed the fitness records, regimen and remedial improvement programs for 380-400 personnel.
